Plain-English terms.
The rules that apply when you buy a portrait from us.
Who we are
This site is operated by The Little Hero Company. When we say βweβ, we mean The Little Hero Company. Our contact address is hello@thelittleherocompany.com.
What you can expect from us
- We'll render a preview for free before payment, subject to a fair-use limit of 10 previews per rolling 24 hours.
- A paid order resets the preview allowance for that visitor.
- We'll only charge your card once you've approved a preview, chosen a format, and confirmed you're happy to proceed.
- We'll dispatch physical print orders within the stated SLA (see delivery), with tracking.
- If the print arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect, we'll reprint and dispatch a replacement at no cost. Report within 14 days of delivery.
- We'll handle your photograph and personal data in line with our privacy policy.
What we ask of you
- Upload only photographs you have the right to use, such as your own child or a child whose parent or guardian has given permission.
- Provide an accurate shipping address. If a parcel is returned as undeliverable, we may need to charge for reshipping.
- Do not use the service to create content that is illegal, harmful, or of a recognisable person without their consent or their parent's consent.
- Pay for what you order using valid payment details.
How the contract works
When you pay, we accept your order and a contract is formed between us. Until then, either party can walk away.
We may refuse an order in rare cases, for example if we suspect the photograph is not yours to upload, if the request is unsafe or unlawful, or if we have experienced repeated delivery issues with the address you gave. We'll refund you in full if we refuse a paid order.
Pricing & payment
Product prices are shown before shipping. Physical print shipping is added at checkout based on the product and destination. We'll show the total before you confirm.
If we spot an obvious pricing error, we'll contact you before processing the order. You can then proceed at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
Intellectual property
When you buy a portrait, you receive a personal licence to print, display, share, and enjoy it for personal, non-commercial use. We retain copyright in the scene artwork and site assets, which must not be resold as standalone artwork or used commercially.
Returns, cancellations, and reprints
Because each portrait is personalised and made to order, orders can't usually be changed or cancelled once paid. Goods made to your specification or clearly personalised are exempt from the 14-day right to cancel under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. The preview step exists so you can approve the portrait before committing.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected. If your physical print arrives damaged in transit or has a manufacturing defect, we'll reprint and dispatch a replacement at no cost. Full details are on the returns & damage policy page.
Limits on our liability
Nothing in these terms limits any liability we have that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Beyond that, our liability for any single order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. The latest version will always live at this URL. Orders you place are governed by the terms in force at the time you place them.
