The portrait
- How good is the face swap, really?
Very good. Our render model is trained on the face you upload — skin tone, eye colour, expression, hair texture — and places that face into the chosen scene rather than generating a generic child. Every render is reviewed before we send you the preview. If it isn't right, we redo it — free, unlimited times.
- What makes a good photo to upload?
Four things help enormously:
- Taken in natural daylight (not under bright lamps or flash)
- Front-facing — looking into the camera, not at something sideways
- Face is clear and not too small in the frame
- Not wearing sunglasses or a hat that covers the eyes
- Can I use a photo of more than one child?
Single-child scenes work best right now. For a sibling portrait, email us and we'll render a custom version — same price as a standard canvas.
- Will it look like my child?
That's the whole point. If the preview doesn't look like them, we redo it free — as many times as needed. We only ask you to pay once you're happy.
- Is this an AI image?
Yes — the scenes are rendered by our image model, with your child's face placed into them. We're proud to say so; it's what makes this possible. The final canvas is a real, printed, physical object.
Ordering & payment
- How much does a portrait cost?
Digital downloads start at £18 / $22. Canvas prints start at £54 / $65 for a Medium, and go up to £117 / $139 for a Royal. You can see the full range on any scene page.
- When am I charged?
Only after you've approved the preview and chosen a format. Previews are free to generate.
- What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards through Stripe, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay where supported. Your card details never touch our servers.
- Can I use a gift code?
Not yet — we'll add gift cards and promo codes soon. If you'd like one for a specific occasion, email us.
Delivery & returns
- How long does shipping take?
UK: 2–3 business days. US: 3–5business days. You'll receive a tracking email when your canvas is dispatched.
- Do you ship internationally?
We currently ship to the UK and US. If you're elsewhere, email us — we can usually arrange it.
- What if the canvas arrives damaged or misprinted?
We'll reprint and ship a replacement at no cost. Email us within 14 days of delivery with photos. Full details on the returns & damage policy.
- Can I cancel or change an order after paying?
Each portrait is personalised and made to order, so orders can't be changed or cancelled once paid — which is exactly why we give you unlimited free previews before payment. Take your time on the preview and only place the order when you're sure.
Privacy & safety
- What happens to my child's photo?
It's uploaded over HTTPS, used only to create your portrait, and permanently deleted from our storage within 24 hours. We never share it, sell it, or use it to train any model.
- Do you keep the final image?
For canvas orders, yes — we keep the finished print-ready file for 90 days in case you order a reprint or another size. After that, it's deleted. For digital-only orders, we delete it as soon as you've downloaded it.
- Is the site secure?
Yes — the site runs over HTTPS, payments go through Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1), and we don't store card details at all.
